The following documents are a few of many relied upon to compile the historical significance of "Bakers Lookout", "Peter Studebaker's" "Historic home of Washington County, Maryland", "National Historic Sites" preserving the history of the "French Indian War", "The Revolutionary War", "The Civil War" and the building of "The Thirteen Colonies".
Peter Studebaker and Bakers Lookout are of national historic signifcance to the building of the "transportation industy" with inventions of the "Prairie Schooner", "Conestoga Wagon", "horseless carrige", making "The Studebaker Brothers", the largest "Wagon Manufacturer in the world". Many other inventions and the bring of technology to this country was Peter Studebakers goal by the teaching of his trade of cutlery, blacksmithing, tool making, hewn log dove-tailing and hardware for the contruction of homes and buildings.
